5 Minutes to Peace: De-stress and Heal from the Inside Out.

Hello…..

This month, we're exploring the profound connection between mind, body, and spirit. We have practiced deepening our awareness of our feet and posture.

This week, I’m sharing one of my favorite body-mind practices to cultivate inner peace.

It’s a powerful reminder that even when the world feels overwhelming, we can find strength and calm within ourselves.

And, if you are a parent, especially to a child with unique needs, it's a challenging journey. Start to cultivate inner peace by celebrating each step of your journey with all its joys, tears, and fierce love.

Inspired by Thich Nhat Hanh, learning to be still brings joy and calmness into your body and life:

“The more space we make for stillness and silence, the more we have to give both to ourselves and to others.”

Remember, there is healing in movement as well as in stillness.

In our busy world, we often move only certain body parts, rarely exploring the range of motion each joint offers. Embracing stillness, like sitting on a bench and feeling the air against our skin, has become a lost art.

I love Thich Nhat Hanh’s clear and simple directions and inspiration for living a mindful life and learning how to integrate our ‘practice’ into our lives.

I invite you to drop any disempowering thoughts like “I have no time for sitting,” or I don’t like sitting still” and dive with me into

THE JOY OF SITTING

Embrace the present moment. This very moment, right here and now, is the only one we truly have. Have you ever heard the saying, "I wish I had..." followed by regrets about spending more time with loved ones? Don't let that be your story.

Your Nervous System will relax, activating your body’s self-healing powers and prompting a sense of patience.

  1. The first thing to do is to pause whatever else you’re doing. You have five minutes to put yourself first!” OK?
  2. Now sit down and remember the lessons about body wisdom and letting your posture speak: anchor your feet, sit on your bones, lift your heart, drop your shoulders, relax!
  3. Stay curious! Be the Observer! Let go of judgement.
